Brandie Sue Dawn Jerden was tragically murdered at the age of 27 leaving behind a young son. Following Brandie’s murder, the killer was also convicted of having beaten and killed another St. George resident just two months prior to murdering Brandie. While she left a significant mark in the lives of many, four years later, her grave site remains without a headstone. Family members have worked painstakingly to honor her life and take steps towards closure for their loss. The difficulty in doing so is twofold.
First, Jessie Jerden, Brandie’s brother, would like to place a quality photograph to represent her on the front of her headstone.
According to Krista Jerden, Jessie’s wife, “No one has many pictures of Brandie as an adult, let alone as a child. I have asked, advertised, and begged for any and all pictures out there so we may have a better collection of memories. The photo we have is not the best photo; but it is the best we have to pick from, currently.”
The problem with the picture is it is a copy of a copy, making the quality too poor to use. Assistance in finding the person who took the picture, someone that has a higher resolution copy, or that might have additional photos of Brandie is needed. Second, the process of coming up with the funds to purchase a headstone for Brandie has proven to be extremely difficult for the family. The headstone is finally finished and awaits final payment in order to be placed. Brandie’s family remembers her as a wonderful mother, sister, and daughter. She was a great friend, bringing joy and happiness to those she encountered. Growing up in Southern Utah allowed her to enjoy enthusiastic adventures including: camping, hiking, fishing, biking, and riding ATV’s. Brandie’s great sense of humor, incredible smile, and passion for music is something that will be everlasting. With her birthday coming up on February 22, the family would enjoy presenting this gift to commemorate Brandie’s life.
