Nevada Open Golf Tournament purse set at $140,000
Mesquite Gaming, owner of the Casablanca Resort and Virgin River Hotel, has closed registration and finalized the field of golfers playing in the Nevada Open Golf Tournament after the event saw registrations come in at record pace. The purse has been set at $140,000.
Though tournament registration is now closed, spectators are welcome to come and enjoy some of the country’s best up-and-coming professional golfers. The event is free and open to the public.
The 54-hole tournament is Nevada’s longest-running professional golf tournament and is played on both of Mesquite Gaming’s award-winning courses, the CasaBlanca Golf Club and Palms Golf Club.
“We are seeing an unprecedented level of excitement for this year’s Nevada Open,” says Christian Adderson, tournament director for Mesquite Gaming. “Spectators will be treated to one of the best fields of players we’ve ever had, and the two courses are in excellent condition.”
The first round of the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 6 with a shotgun start. The second round will follow the same schedule Nov. 7. Following the second round, a cut to the field will be made based on 30 percent of the field plus ties. The final round with all remaining players will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 8. The first two rounds will have all players playing all 18 holes of both the CasaBlanca Golf Course and Palms Golf Course with the final round being played on the CasaBlanca Golf Course.
