New for 2023, artists are invited to register to submit studio work in the competition and miniatures to be sold for a fundraiser. Recognition varies in each category. In total more than $11,000 will be awarded in prize money.

Whether rendering a three-hour finished entry in the park, a 24-hour piece within city limits, or a nocturnal under a star-studded sky, plein air or studio, miniature or larger, any media can be used, and multiple pieces can be stamped for competition. The variety is endless and inspiring.

From the arid desert canyons to the snow-capped peaks of Boulder Mountain and Griffin Top, each scene evokes a different interpretation, enriched by the southern Utah palette. We invite you to answer the call to be inspired in southern Utah at the Escalante Canyons Art Festival on September 15-24, 2023.
