On Friday, Sept. 25, Wildflower Studies will perform at the final 2015 Campfire Concert in the Canyon at the Cedar Canyon Nature Park at 7 p.m. The concerts benefit the Southwest Wildlife Foundation by creating awareness about the Cedar Canyon Nature Park. The Campfire Concert in the Canyon shows are free, but donations are welcome.
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation is currently working on the future of the Cedar Canyon Nature Park, which will eventually house native wild animals that cannot be released due to injurious disabilities. The park will also include a Visitors and Nature Center. Work will begin shortly and will hopefully be in place by next year’s concert.
The Campfire Concert in the Canyon performance area is located at the south side of Coal Creek, directly south across the park’s green bridge. Parking is available at the bridge entrance site in addition to the city bridge at the west waterfall, where the footbridge will take you to the city walking path. From there, just follow the trail just a short distance to the east until you come to the fire pit.
Marshmallows and roasting sticks are always provided as a courtesy by the Southwest Wildlife Foundation. The concerts are always casual, and attendees should consider bringing lawn chairs, blankets, and lanterns or flashlights.
