The Cedar City Arts Council is pleased to announce the Second Annual Cedar City Art Walk, a collaboration between artists, businesses, and galleries in the community that will take place from June 5 to August 28 during regular business hours. This year, Art Walk has 15 participating locations that are centralized into two areas: the downtown Main Street/Center Street area and Southern Utah University. Art Walk is free, and everyone is encouraged to visit locations throughout the summer and to attend the monthly Final Friday events.

Final Fridays are gallery strolls that offer participants a chance to engage with local businesses and the work of talented visual artists from Utah. These events will take place June 26, July 31, and August 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. Featured artists at the locations will be there to mingle with visitors and demonstrate their art.

In addition to the array of visual arts, some of the locations will be holding receptions with food, drink, and performances from local musicians. Several locations will participate in Cedar City Unplugged, a children’s program that encourages active lifestyles and promotes healthy activities. Final Fridays are deliberately scheduled right before the Utah Shakespeare Festival performances, allowing patrons to engage in a diverse, family-friendly arts and culture experience.

A unique addition to this year’s Final Fridays will be an information booth at the SUU Alumni House, located at 351 W Center Street, which will provide a great stopping point between the downtown and SUU Art Walk locations. Art lovers can learn about the new Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts and see blueprints of the Southern Utah Museum of Art. Representatives from the museum will be present to answer questions, and those who stop by will have the chance to win several giveaways.
