It’s that time of year again in Cedar City. Final Friday Art Walk is here! This year, we have eight participating locations in a concentrated area spreading from Artisan’s Art Gallery on University Boulevard to 300 W at the Southern Utah Museum of Art. Exhibits and live music will also be featured along 100 W. Final Friday Art Walk is free and open to the public, and the exhibits are open throughout the summer. The event series features various art forms including jazz, contemporary and classical music, and art demonstrations June 29, July 27, Aug. 31, and Sept. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m.

All of the participating businesses and galleries are located in or near the downtown area within walking distance of the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Southern Utah University.

The first Final Friday Art Walk will feature various artist demonstrations and exhibits from the Sagebrush Fiber Artisans Guild, carved wood bowls by Steven Dunn, horsehair bracelets and paintings by Carole Foster, art by Joey Favino and Andy Levine, and more throughout the evening in designated locations.

Performances will occur throughout the night. Violin and guitar duo Lindsay and Stan Szczesny will perform at Stone Path from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by Lindsay Szczesny’s violin students from 6 to 7 p.m. The Washburn Family Bluegrass Band will perform at Artisans Gallery from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by April MacPherson and Steven Swift from 6 to 7 p.m. Sofie Scaletta, who sings and plays ukulele and guitar, will perform at Art Works, and Apollo’s Army will play at the SUMA plaza. Yidan Guo will do watercolor demonstrations there as well, and make-n-take activities will be held in the SUMA classroom, where light refreshments will be available. Iron Gate Winery will host 3 Hat Trio.
