For the last 20 years, HorrorFest International has terrorized southern Utah with some of the most creative and frightening films ever to be imagined, and this year is no different.

Just in time for Halloween, Adam Mast, John Pugh, Jeff Sanders, and their crew at Film and Media Alliance of Southern Utah (FMASU) are set to bring you blood, gore, and all the spine-tingling terror you can handle on the silver screen.

This year’s festival is set to run Wednesday, October 19th, thru Saturday, October 22nd, at southern Utah’s historic Electric Theater.

After viewing hundreds of submissions from all around the globe, HorrorFest International programmers have finally carved out the titles that will make up a most epic (and terrifying) lineup.

Additionally, since finding its way to southern Utah, HorrorFest International has welcomed scores of special guests, including the likes of Ted Raimi (“Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn,’ “Deadwax”), Colin Cunningham (“Falling Skies,” “Preacher,” “Centigrade”), Frank Dietz (“I Hate Kids,” Shudder’s “Creepshow” series), The Adams Family (the makers of “Hellbender), and so much more.

This year’s fest, one that the well-respected website Dread Central named one of the best horror festivals in the world, will offer over 60 horror films–shorts and features– from all four corners of the world over the course of 4 fright-filled days. And to top things off, HorrorFest International 2022 will host filmmaker Q&As, panels, horror trivia, a live script read, a costume contest, food, an awards ceremony, and more.

Highlights this year include a special closing night screening of Shudder’s “Deadstream” with the filmmakers in the house, the opening night slice of World War I, set isolated terror “Bunker,” the Amblin-esque, R.L. Stine-influenced young adult horror show “Curse of Crom: The Legend of Halloween.” and the Utah premiere of “Feed Me,” a cannibal-laced bromance tale that’s as brutal as it is wickedly funny–from the twisted minds of Adam Leader, Richard Oakes, and Neal Ward.

HorrorFest at the Electric Theater is a southern Utah must-see event that only comes our way once a year, so be sure to add this to your list of scary and ghoulish things to do this all-hollowed month of October.
