Meet Artist Event Iron County Visitor Center
“Friends” by Gail Arcularius

On Saturday, Dec. 5, members of the community will have the chance to meet the artists whose works are featured at the Iron County Visitor Center Gift Shop. The event will give guests an exclusive chance to mingle with local artists, see their work, and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces handcrafted in Cedar City. Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event is free to the public and will be held in conjunction with the Homestead Christmas Market at the Frontier Homestead State Park on Dec. 4 and 5.

The gift shop at the Iron County Visitor Center not only sells Cedar City and Iron County souvenirs; it also showcases local artists and their work. Featured artwork and artists for the show will include wood pieces by Will Arcularius, Bob Higbee, JD Price and Russel Stout, clay flutes by Joseph Cowlishaw, gourd art from Todd Prince, handcrafted rugs by Diana Beam, fiber designs by Barbara Ackerman, pottery by Frances Jarman, and paintings by Gail Arcularius.

Last but not least, Martin Tyner and his famous bird of prey will be visiting the show. As Utah’s best known falconer, Martin has dedicated his life to caring and protecting native Utah wildlife. Martin’s photography work will be on display, as well as his bird of prey. All proceeds from these particular sales will benefit the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

Jane Fell at the Iron County Visitor Center recommends that guests have their purchases autographed by the artists. The artists will be available all day to answer questions, personalize purchases, and demonstrate their craft.
