Socializing and live music are two of the most important things in my life. They both have the power to bring people together, create memories, and make us feel alive.

Publishers Perspective

Every year as we get closer to the summer season, and certainly after a long winter as we’ve just had, I get antsy to get out and see some great live music. That’s already begun for me this year having the opportunity to see a couple of my favorite artists this last month as well as going to a smaller festival with some great regional acts. Check out our big July calendar starting on page 10 for a ton of great live music and festivals.

Socializing and live music are two of the most important things in my life. They both have the power to bring people together, create memories, and make us feel alive.

That said, in the post-covid era I have found myself less likely to go out on any given evening, having gotten more used to staying in more since the time Covid hit, as so many social events were canceled. But that seems to be changing for me, finally, as I’m more and more motivated to get to festivals and events.

But it’s more than just fun and games. Socializing is essential for our mental and emotional health. It allows us to connect with others, share our experiences, and build relationships. When we socialize, we release endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects. We also get to learn about different cultures and perspectives, which can help us become more open-minded and understanding.

Live music is another powerful form of connection. When we listen to live music, we are not only enjoying the music itself, but also the energy and excitement of the crowd. Live music can be a great way to relieve stress, have fun, and let loose. It can also be a powerful source of inspiration and motivation.

While not known for live music, Southern Utah’s music scene has really been growing in the last couple of years. Many venues and bars have been increasing their offerings this year and you can find so many of those options in our calendars of events both in print and online. This month’s print calendar starts on page 10. We spend dozens of hours each month seeking out events and assembling our calendars, so we hope you’ll take advantage of this valuable resource

If you’re looking for ways to improve your life, I highly recommend socializing and attending live music events. They are two of the most powerful things you can do for your mental, emotional, and physical health.

So go out there and connect with others! Attend a live music event! And enjoy the many benefits that socializing and live music have to offer.

Here are some tips for socializing and enjoying live music:

  • Make an effort to talk to new people.
  • Attend events that interest you.
  • Be open to new experiences.
  • Don’t be afraid to dance or sing along.
  • Have fun and we’ll see ya out there!
