Windmill

Looking for a fun new best friend? Windmill is your guy! While he’s super cute, WIndmill is also very smart. He learned to sit and how to use the doggy door within 48 hours of being in a foster home and walked well on a leash his first time by following other dogs.

Windmill’s favorite things include hanging out with other dogs, playing with toys, and eating snacks (of course). He’d love to go to an active home and would enjoy having another playful dog (or several) where he can put his puppy energy to good use. This guy is a cutie patootie with personality plus!

Jeb

Meet Jeb! This gorgeous 103 lb man is not your typical hound. Yes, he has that hound bark and yes he has that hound nose but he is so much more. Jeb walks perfectly on a leash and loves everyone he meets. His sister sheds a lot and needs to be brushed and, while he does not, he LOVES being brushed.

This curious boy has been good with other dogs here at the sanctuary and can’t wait to go to his fur-ever home. If you think Jeb could be the perfect match for you, click Adopt Jeb to fill out an interest form!

Raylene

Please say hello to Raylene! She is a beautiful cattle dog mix with a gorgeous coat, soft silky ears, and stunning blue eyes that will melt your heart. Raylene is a young gal with lots of energy and lots of personality. She loves the attention of her caregivers and the volunteers who come to visit. Raylene was a bit shy at first but has developed confidence with the help of her run mates, she loves to play!

This girl would do best in an active home where she can enjoy long walks or hikes. She has nice leash manners but is an infamous chaser of lizards that are abundant on the sanctuary trails, so hold on tight! Raylene is a bit intimidated getting into a car, but her caregivers are working with her to be more comfortable with this process. She is a sweet, exuberant, fun, and friendly dog who will be the perfect loyal companion to a loving family!

Mercedes

Mercedes is nothing but an adorable love muffin! He enjoys all things kitten…chasing anything that rolls, jumping from one high place to the next, accepting pets and scratches, and most importantly…waiting for a home of his own.

Could it be yours? Come meet him today!

Turtle

Turtle is a very sweet, yet shy boy, who has started to come around to his caregivers (thanks to lots of cat treats!). Although he would prefer to hide under blankets at times (just like a turtle), he is quickly learning to trust his human friends.

If you can provide this sensitive boy with a quiet and patient environment, Turtle is waiting for you!

Morris

Don’t let my grumpy face fool you, I’m a gentle giant who LOVES to snuggle. I’ll happily burrow into head scratches and lay there (purring loudly) while you brush my magnificent, orange fur.

Make arrangements to come meet me today!

Tavi

Tavi is a gorgeous Treeing Walker Coonhound. Known to be a vocal breed, sweet Tavi definitely has plenty to say! Tavi is a happy hiker when he gets to know his people. “Trust” is something coveted by Tavi, but once you have his, he is perfection!

This poor guy was living outside until new caretakers contacted us to give him a new lease on life. He is learning the joys of living inside and having people to love. He will need patience but will reward you with plenty of return affection.

Come meet Tavi today!

Vinny

Vinny is a 1 ½-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. He is the only one of six dogs that were reportedly found piled up and shot (by shotgun) that survived. Part of Vinny’s ear and his whole ear canal had been shot off and had to be amputated the rest of the way. He is fully recovered.

He would love an active forever home. He is great with other dogs but would do best in a home with no small animals like cats, chickens, or rabbits. Vinny loves to snuggle and give kisses! He is house-trained, knows basic commands, and minds well. He is also very smart and eager to learn new things.

Vinny is a very happy dog, who loves to be with his people. Some of his favorite activities are riding in the car, going for walks/hikes, relaxing in the sun, and just enjoying life.  Vinny is looking for his furever home. Could it be yours?

Teddy

Hi, my name is Teddy, I’m an 8-year-old male chihuahua mix. I don’t get along well with children. I’m a little iffy with some adults because they make me nervous. New people and things scare me.

With a home environment full of love and patience I can become quite a loving friend. I am housebroken, (learning the doggie door). After getting to know you I will become very loyal, affectionate, and friendly. I do like other doggy friends.

So, I may be a little bit of work. I am a little rough around the edges. If you love a challenge and are looking for the dog of a lifetime and think you can handle me being a bit of a grouch sometimes, apply now to adopt me.

Thanks, Teddy

Cactus

Meet sweet Cactus, a petite bundle of love who yearns to be your devoted companion. This affectionate feline has left her outdoor days behind and is ready to embrace the comforts of a forever home. She may seem timid at first, but once you spend a few moments in her presence, you’ll soon realize her unwavering desire for human affection.

This girl purrs nonstop, delights in gently bumping you for more attention, and happily rolls over, inviting belly rubs. Cactus has shown immense resilience and has made a wonderful recovery after coming to us covered in cactus spines.

Coyote

Coyote is a brave and resilient blue cat who has triumphed over unimaginable challenges. After surviving a coyote attack with multiple wounds, Coyote’s journey took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with neuro FIP. Despite these setbacks, this tough girl is currently undergoing treatment and eagerly awaits her forever family.

Coyote’s tiny size belies her indomitable spirit. She is a sweet and gentle soul, deserving of the love and affection that she has longed for. Wet food and head scratches are among her favorite indulgences, bringing comfort and joy to her healing journey.

Once Coyote completes her recovery, she envisions a future filled with playfulness and the freedom to embrace her youth. She yearns for a forever family who will provide the care, patience, and understanding she deserves, allowing her to thrive in a safe and loving environment. By providing a forever home, you can become a vital part of her continued healing and witness the transformation of this remarkable feline into a playful and joyful companion.

Bolt

Bolt is up for adoption! This young 3-year-old guy is all energy and play. He loves, and when I say he loves, I mean he LOVES playing fetch. He is one with the ball. He does enjoy his relaxation time as well. If you sit with him he will just lay next to you, on top of you, or somewhere near you. He does love affection.

He will do best in a home with no small children because of his high energy and herding breed. His way of correcting small children is probably not conducive to a good situation for him or the children. Bolt will make a great family dog, especially for a family that likes the outdoors.

Dillon

Play, play, and more play – that’s what Dillon is best at! He is a very friendly boy who will make a wonderful addition to any family who has the stamina to meet his energy levels.

This boy will be your best friend! Dillon is a faithful, friendly, affectionate dog. He loves attention and petting. He knows how to “sit”, and he loves to play with balls and the stuffed green alligator. Dillon is always longing for attention – he would be a great companion! Your buddy would always be right there.

Elvis

Five-year-old Elvis is a big galoof who loves everyone he meets (although he didn’t show much interest in cats). He’s a gentle giant who plays well with all sizes of dogs…even the little ones and puppies. He adores kids but can knock a little one over just giving a good sniff. He has an EXCELLENT sniffer!

Although he’s pretty quiet most of the time, the signature hound bay howl comes out when he plays. It’s adorable!

Elvis seems to have some training. He bolted on us once when we first got him but has been great since then. His new adopter just needs to be aware it can happen and they need to keep him safe, especially getting into and out of cars.

Bonnie

Bonnie has a happy tail and always wakes up in a good mood ready to start the day with a few kisses. She is approximately 2-3 years old and is the perfect size for a “tweener” dog (between big and little).

Bonnie is a shy girl who, we suspect, was abused which made her afraid of so many things. Fortunately, her foster mama has made a big difference and feels it’s time to find Bonnie’s family where she can continue to gain confidence and learn to blossom into the dog she was born to be.

Bonnie likes going for walks & hikes plus she loves car rides and being near her person. She’s very food motivated and a quick learner. Bonnie is housebroken with a doggy door and crate trained (although she would rather stay out with you). She would love another outgoing fun-loving dog to play with as she relies on other dogs to let her know if a situation is safe or not and would do best without small children as sudden movements and loud noises can frighten her. She requires a secure fenced yard.

Oscar

Do you like Chocolate? You just can’t get any sweeter than this gentle giant. Oscar is kennel trained and does well on his own outside a kennel. He shows no destructive behavior. He’s obedient, friendly, protective, calm, and quiet and he loves to snuggle on the couch. What more could you ask?

Oscar was recently surrendered due to a housing situation. At eight years old, he is a playful goofball (he has a huge bin of toys) and will try to get multiple toys in his mouth. He does well on a leash. He knows his basic commands and sits nicely for treats and meals. He has been socializing well at doggy daycare with male and female dogs. He enjoys older, respectful kids. He has not been cat tested.

Oscar was diagnosed with epilepsy a year ago after having a petit mal seizure (non-violent shaking) but no loss of consciousness. He takes medication twice a day (with peanut butter) to keep from having another one. He is at a good healthy weight at 80 pounds.

Bing

Two-year-old brothers Bing and Chunk were surrendered together and Chunk has been adopted but…his brother Bing is still waiting.  Are you his furever family?

Bing, named for his beautiful Bing Crosby eyes, is energetic, playful, and loves to chew (antlers and durable toys preferred). He also enjoys cuddling and giving kisses.  Bing has some fear of riding in cars and freezes up and doesn’t want to get in. However, after just a few trips to the dog park with our fabulous volunteers, he’s already becoming more relaxed and has a great time once he gets there. Trips to other fun places should help him continue with his progress.

Bing is good with other dogs, cats, and kids and will make a great addition to an active family. As puppies, Bing may do better with older children who will make sure not to leave toys laying around. (Did we mention he does love to chew and will need supervision since he will swallow toys if allowed). Bing would benefit from some training as he can jump and be mouthy when excited and hasn’t had much experience walking on a leash. A  loving family with room to play and time to help socialize him will solve many of these behavioral issues.

Izzy

One-year-old Izzy is such a happy girl. She adores everyone (ok, we don’t know about cats yet) and loves to romp with kids, other dogs, or by herself if no one else is available.

Izzy is housebroken, spayed, microchipped, and fully vetted. This super-sweet girl is anxious to begin her new life with a special person or family that adores her. She’s super smart and has a lot of puppy energy still so might do best with a family with kids and/or other dogs and would love a big yard to explore.
