Rocky Vista University appoints Michael K. Young to Executive Advisory CouncilRocky Vista University announced the appointment of Michael K. Young to its Executive Advisory Council for Southern Utah. RVU’s Executive Advisory Council was established in January to provide guidance and advice regarding community relations and other pertinent matters to the leadership and faculty at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Southern Utah in Ivins.

“As someone who grew up, lived, and worked in Utah, I look forward to serving with the Executive Advisory Council of the new and uniquely situated Osteopathic School of Medicine in a rapidly growing and important part of the State” said Young. “I am honored to serve on the council to support President Adams in achieving his bold vision for enhancing healthcare education and delivery.”

Young, a graduate of Harvard Law School, currently serves as the president of Texas A&M, a position he has held since May 1, 2015. His career includes previous positions as president and tenured professor of law at the University of Washington as well as president and professor of law at the University of Utah.

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Southern Utah will welcome 125 students as members of its inaugural class in July. The Utah campus, which is currently under construction, will include a new 104,000 square foot teaching facility and student apartment housing located on the 30-acre campus. A community open house event will be held Aug. 19.
