Gilmoresouthern utah adoptable pets Gilmore

Gilmore is a shy, calm, and quiet dog. Once he is comfortable he will give you a little bark when he is excited to see you. Gilmore takes some time to warm up to new people. He loves food puzzles and using his nose to sniff out treats during his favorite game of “nose work”.
Gilmore loves food, and he loves to cuddle up in bedding and blankets.
Gilmore was born in 2012, he has not had much experience in a home yet. Gilmore is learning the steps towards walking on a leash but will go in a crate for easy transport.
At the Sanctuary, he loves clicker training and is learning hand feeding as well as how to accept human touch and handling. Gilmore has a quiet nature and would do best in a calm and quiet home. He loves sunbathing outside. Gilmore is looking for a home that can offer patience and love, as he learns just how to be a dog.

Holy Molysouthern tuah adoptable pets Holy Moly

Holy Moly is like a giant puppy with his zest for life. He’s silly and has a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. He loves to snuggle, play, and receive belly rubs, and he tries really hard whenever he’s learning anything new. Although he has a degenerative joint disease, medications, and supplements, as well as hydrotherapy and chiropractic appointments, keep him feeling his best. At times he can tire quickly but he’s able to stay active doing agility, swimming, walks on the trails, playing with toys, and hanging out with his doggie friends. He loves car rides and bathing in the sun. Holy Moly is very smart and has learned many training cues. He is an incredibly sweet boy, and he’d love to be your companion.

Cordeliasouthern utah adoptable pets Cordelia

Cordelia can be a really sweet, silly girl. But people only see this side of her when she’s in her comfort zone beside her best dog buddy. He helps give her a lot of confidence, and she is more willing to try new things if he’s with her. Cordelia was born in 2012. She is really smart and excels at training – especially when food is involved. She’s become a rock star at agility at the Sanctuary.

Lizziesouthern utah adoptable pets Lizzie

Lizzie is a friendly girl looking for a heart to win. Her ideal home would have plenty of love to give, lots of comfy beds to sleep on, and wouldn’t mind giving her rides on their shoulders from time to time. Lizzie can coexist well with other cats, though she wouldn’t mind all of your attention to herself either. This girl is the ideal blend of affectionate and independent – every kitty lover’s dream! Contact our adoption team today if you think Lizzie could be your perfect match.

Danettesouthern utah adoptable pets Bucky

Wow, look at those gorgeous eyes! This beautiful girl Danette was timid when she first arrived at Best Friends but she’s made a lot of progress! She’s now social with people and allows visitors to pet her. She’s also bonded with a male cat named Bucky, whom she snuggles with every day. Danette loves playing with all sorts of cat toys. With a patient person she’ll continue to become more affectionate. Can you give this sweet girl the loving home she needs to fully come out of her shell? She will love you for it!

Sushi

Sushi is very sweet and has the potential to be a very lovable cat. She can entertain herself but she really wants to trust people. She will watch you with those gorgeous eyes and will approach you if she’s enticed with food and treats. She just needs someone with lots of love and patience. Sushi would love a home of her own where she can blossom into her true self.

Betty “Akira” White

Meet Betty “Akira” White. She was surrendered to RSQ so she could receive medical care. She is not ready for adoption yet, but please visit RSQ Utah on Facebook and Instagram to follow along on her journey to wellness.

She is the sweetest girl and so very smart. She seems great on leash but can’t currently walk as much as she would like. We chose to call her Betty as she was surrendered on Betty Whites 100th birthday. Betty was a huge advocate for the animal community, and we couldn’t think of a better tribute to her than naming this beautiful girl after her. Her foster mom adores her and cannot wait to let her play with all the kids and dogs again. She’s very easy to adore.  She is an adult Husky that is house-trained.

Coraline

Me, me, me, me-owwwww! My name is Coraline, and I am a very friendly and pretty gal looking for the paw-fect home. I haven’t always known the kindness and love of humans. One pulled out some of my claws and broke my leg so severely that it had to be amputated. That hasn’t slowed me down as I still like to get up on high places. I enjoy having my luxurious fur brushed too. Please come in for a visit and adopt me today!

Roo

My name is Roo and I’m a cute, curious little fellow looking for my place in this world. I love to play with toys and then have a cuddle session afterward. I’d love to have some adventures with you! I know I will keep you smiling. My twin Kanga is also available for adoption. We would make a great pair! Roo is house-trained.

Kanga

My name is Kanga and I’m the gentlest and kindest kitten. My favorite thing is cuddling on a shoulder. I’m super sweet, playful, and love spring toys and crinkly paper. Leah is 2 years old. Leah has spent most of her life outdoors. She will need basic training and house training. She is friendly and full of energy. She will make a wonderful family pet. Leah is a high-energy pet. Her adoption fee is $60.

Momma Cat

I love to be social, but I love to play even more. Wave a wand and I will chase it. A ball rolls across my field of vision–watch my pounce. I have a lot of spunk and energy and love to run around playing. I also like to be petted and get love, but usually, after we have played for a bit. I am a round ball of a little cat. I could do with a good diet and exercise. My adoption fee is $40.

Sugar

Sugar is a bit of a big girl, but it’s nothing a proper diet won’t fix! I say she’s as big as she is because of the size of her heart. Quite the talker, she’s never short on meows and always big on purrs! She’s content lying around in the presence of someone she knows will love and take good  Do to quite a few changes in her life she was having difficulty adjusting to the last home she was in and ended up at the shelter. She would do best as an only cat with all the love and attention on her. Her adoption fee is $40.

Lady

Still a baby herself at only 1-1/2 years old, sweet Lady has been the best mom ever since she came to BAM with seven two-day-old puppies. Her babies are weaned and going to new homes and now Lady is looking for her very own person to play with and spoil her rotten.

Lady is a gentle, smart, good-natured goofball who loves to play with people and other dogs (she does not, however, care for cats). She’s the perfect companion! Once she’s been spayed, the adoption will be final and this amazing girl will be yours forever.

Lady’s Puppies

If you’re interested in any of the puppies, stop by that BAM Place Tuesday–Saturday between 9 am–5 pm, or submit a BAM Adoption Application and, if approved, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting. Sherlock

Six-year-old Sherlock is an adorable, energetic little (7 pound) package of love! He’s a true cuddle bug who will follow you everywhere to ensure he doesn’t miss any lap time! He loves toys and will self-entertain or play fetch.

Sherlock really enjoys mealtime, chews, and treats and is a fast eater so a slow feeder or separate feeding area may be needed. He’s comfortable in his crate and will frequently go into it voluntarily just to chill. He’s a great walker and rides well in a car.

He enjoys his foster’s small dogs (and her cat) as well as a number of other littles but large dogs and small children are not recommended due to his size and occasional nervousness. Sherlock is housebroken (will need some doggy door training) but does mark, a behavior which should disappear over time since he is now neutered.

Bolt

Almost eight-year-old Bolt is a handsome little Pomeranian / Chihuahua (long-haired although it is currently cut short) fellow. He recently moved from a home with a big yard where he could exercise himself to a small apartment with no walks or doggy daycare access. The resulting behavior was lots of barking…not a good situation! His mom and dad made the difficult decision to find a family for him who could offer an enriching, love-and activity-filled life.

Affectionately known as Bolty, he lived with another little dog so is very comfortable with small doggy friends (his foster has several) but we are unsure about how he handles bigger dogs. He’s quite the lover and will sit next to you if other more engaging activities are not available. He’s a great walker who enjoys himself and is not particularly reactive to his environment. He also loves certain toys and is self-entertained plus he rides well in a car.

Bolt is housebroken but will need some doggy door training.

Poppy

Poppy is a complicated girl who is both sweet and sassy. She would prefer a quiet home without small children where she is the only dog or maybe has one other small dog friend. Poppy is housebroken using a doggy door and gets along with her foster’s small dogs but is a loner.

Poppy is approximately 7-8 years old. She was rescued from a life on the streets of Phoenix and is still cautious, exhibiting some defensive behaviors but really wants to trust and love! She asks for belly rubs and neck pets but these must be given on her terms.

Poppy can be picked up and held if needed but she is not yet a lap dog. She fears having a leash or harness put on her but loves her walks! Because Poppy is HIGHLY treat motivated, patient training will likely be successful. She will require an experienced adopter with a slow, steady training protocol, lots and lots of repetition, and lots and lots of treats to help her overcome her fear and aggressive behavior.

Stella

For pitties sake! Really–no interest in this beautiful girl? How can that be? Stella is a wonderful, kind girl looking for love. At five to six years, she had very likely never experienced it before coming to BAM and every day she shows us her gratitude and affection. She’s finally figured out that people want to love her…and we all do! Stella e is so ready to start a new chapter in her life now with nothing but love in store.

Stella was so gentle when she played with her puppies but now they’ve all gone to their forever homes leaving her alone and lonely. She really wants someone to hold her close and play tug with her.

Gentle as she is, she had occasionally acted very protective of her puppies when other dogs or kids were nearby. For that reason, she may do best as a solo dog with no kids (or maybe ok with older, respectful kids), and, we assume, no cats.
