This summer, Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts will offer a variety of arts related summer workshops to Washington County youth entering into grades 7 through 12. They are offering three separate week-long sessions, two in June and one in July. The deadline for registration is Friday, May 29.

Taught by professional artists accomplished in their fields, the workshops will be offered in areas such as ballroom dance, Broadway musical theater, filmmaking, WebTV, personal painting, mixed media, piano, beginning guitar, percussion, strings, and ceramics. Featured instructors will include Mark Reis, a Broadway performer who played scarecrow in last year’s Tuacahn Center for the Arts’ production of Wizard of Oz; Christine France, award winning ballroom dance competition team director; and Andy Watson, regionally acclaimed ceramic arts artist.

“This is an exciting opportunity for southern Utah students who have an interest in the arts,” said Tuacahn High School Principal Roseanna Weeks. “By offering concentrated workshops, youth can come and experience fun summer training while enjoying the beauty and inspiration offered by Tuacahn.”

Tuacahn Summer Conservatory will offer three separate sessions:  June 1-5, June 8-12, and July 13-17. Workshops begin daily at 8:30 a.m. and run through 12:30 p.m.

Registration is open through Friday, May 29. The enrollment fee is $100 per workshop and includes a t-shirt and ticket to one of the Tuacahn summer amphitheater shows: “Beauty & the Beast,” “When you Wish,” or “Sister Act.”
