Well, at least the Board of Trustees obviously didn’t like UPSU either and voted to approve the name change from Dixie State University to Utah Tech University. The committee organized to come up with a new name for Dixie State University voted 11-3 (with two abstentions) in favor of Utah Polytechnic State University but that didn’t fly for the majority of residents, alumni, or statesmen here in southern Utah.
Now that the Trustees have voted to rename DSU, UTU, what are your thoughts on the matter?

Way better – Still have time to make the change. U tech would be a potential nickname

U tech sounds like an automotive mechanics school or worse yet an online / mail order degree mill ripoff school advertised on third rate TV channels showing old episodes of Monk and Hill St Blues. Sounds awkward as well. Clearly does not role off the tongue either.
