Washington County, Utah — Washington County is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Anderson as the Library Director following his exemplary service as Interim Director for the past year.

A wealth of knowledge and extensive experience has marked Alan Anderson’s journey to the role of Library Director. With nearly 35 years dedicated to library services, Mr. Anderson’s career began with Davis County, where he progressively assumed various roles and culminated his tenure as a Branch Manager. His exceptional skills and dedication led him to the Washington County Library, where he undertook the responsibilities of Branch Manager for the Washington and Santa Clara branches.

Over a decade ago, he assumed the dual role of Assistant Director for Washington County, overseeing the largest branch in the system, St. George, while also providing invaluable high-level system support and training to managers throughout the county.

In addition to his practical experience, Alan Anderson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Management from BYU and a Master of Library Science from the University of North Texas, along with a Graduate Certificate in Public Library Management. His academic achievements further bolster his qualifications and competencies in this new role.

Throughout his career, Alan has demonstrated unwavering support for library patrons and a commitment to delivering exceptional library services that cater to the diverse needs of the county. The Washington County Library is confident in Mr. Anderson’s skills, experience, and vision to propel the library forward in the right direction.
