Saturday nights in Kanab are about to get a whole lot livelier as Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile launches its fifth annual free summer concert series beginning May 2.
Live music, from rocking blues to classic country, transforms the pet-friendly hotel’s landscaped lawn at 30 N. 300 W. into one of the area’s favorite open-air venues. Shows run every Saturday through the last weekend in October, with May and June performances scheduled from 6–8 PM, July and August shifting to 7–9 PM, and September and October returning to 6–8 PM.

“We are so excited to kick off our summer music series at the Roadhouse. It’s a great opportunity for locals, hotel guests, and Kanab visitors to gather together and hear some great tunes, enjoy our beautiful landscaping, play lawn games, purchase Mercantile snacks and beverages, or bring a picnic,” said Julie Barger, director of visitor experience for Best Friends Animal Society. “The music is great, but we’re here for the cute dogs people bring to the concerts, too!”
The Roadhouse concert atmosphere is relaxed and community-driven, with regional artists rotating each week and pets welcome at every show. Chairs are provided, though limited, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Admission is free, and parking is readily available.
The series opens May 2 with Blue Marble, followed by The Buckskin Bandits on May 9, Tom Bennett on May 16, Stone Company on May 23, and Richard Jewkes on May 30. June continues the lineup with Eureka! on June 6, Ryan Tracey on June 13, The Buckskin Bandits returning on June 20, and an unplugged set from Mesozoic later in the month.
