Chexsouthern utah adoptable pets Chex

Chex is extremely shy, but each day he is slowly coming out of his shell and beginning to trust his caregivers. He does well with other dogs, and his doggie roommate is helping him to gain confidence around people. Chex seems to enjoy pets from people he is comfortable with. He has been walking with Dogtown volunteers to help improve his social skills, and he is doing well. Chex sticks close to his roommate at the start of the walk, but as he gets comfortable, he will pull ahead to lead the way. He likes his treats and has a good appetite. Born in 2018, Chex came to Best Friends through local animal control. At Dogtown, Chex is learning that there are other fun things to do besides digging in his yard. Once he feels comfortable enough, he’ll be able to go on walks and outings with volunteers without his doggie friend. Although this sweet pup is making progress in trusting people, he will need an understanding person or family to show him that he is safe. Once he gains confidence, he will make a wonderful companion.

Trianglesouthern utah adoptable pets Triangle

Triangle is a puppy that was born in October 2018 and came from a Texas animal shelter. This litter survived distemper. They are strong, special puppies, but it should be noted that sometimes minor neurological symptoms can show up in pups who survived distemper. All Best Friends puppies are already spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and infused with extra love and cuddles. They need to be taught all those good things that puppies need to learn in order to grow up to be adult dogs, of course. A puppy is a project! But there’s nothing these little ones would love more than to grow right up into your family.

Duchesssouthern utah adoptable pets Duchess

Duchess has a really sweet personality and wants attention and affection from humans. She has also shown good dog skills at the Sanctuary, though she seems to prefer females. Duchess was born in 2016 and came to Best Friends through local animal control. Not much is known about her past other than that she may have growled at men in her previous home. Dogtown caregivers have not seen that behavior here. Since arriving at the Sanctuary, she has been working on socialization with volunteers and other people she doesn’t know to increase her comfort level with strangers. Duchess would love to get to know you and be part of a loving household again.

Cookiesouthern utah adoptable pets Cookie

Cookie is a kitten that was born in September 2018. She came from a California shelter. This playful ball of purrs is precious, and sure doesn’t want to grow up homeless, but as part of your family!

Lilasouthern utah adoptable pets Lila

Lila is friendly and so playful that she’d rather play than cuddle. She’s a petite girl, but she can hold her own if other cats get pushy. Born in 2016, she was abandoned. Lila has a chronic upper respiratory infection which can require medication at times. She’s a tiny girl (only about 5 pounds) with big eyes. This ‘forever kitten’ is a confident girl who will fit in just about any situation.

Newtsouthern utah adoptable pets Newt

Newt is shy but sweet with both people and other cats. Born in 2017, he came to the Sanctuary when his person suffered health issues. Newt talks a lot and makes adorable faces. Jadesouthern utah adoptable pets JADE

Jade is one of the terrific adoptable dogs at That BAM Place in Hurricane, UT. You can see what a beautiful girl Jade is but she’s not just a pretty face–she knows “sit”, of course, but will listen and is keen to learn if there is a treat to be had. Jade is a young adult at approximately one-year-old. Jade knows how to use a dog door, loves to play with squeaky balls, enjoys chewing on hard bones, walks well on a leash and plays with their other dogs (large and small). BAM recently took Jade to the vet after she jumped off of something and limped. They found that she may have some arthritis in her elbow but short walks and regular play are still great exercises for her. BAM also learned there that she may have lived with cats previously as the clinic cat was practically rubbing on her with little more reaction than a sniff. If you are interested in Jade please text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Oscarsouthern utah adoptable pets OSCAR

Meet BAM’s handsome, adoptable Oscar!! We know. He doesn’t look poodle/springer but that’s what his DNA says. Oscar is the youngest 10 year old you’ll likely ever meet. He’s filled with seemingly boundless energy, he knows his basic commands, he gets along with other dogs and all of the people he’s had the opportunity to meet. Oscar was adopted 9 years ago and has had one family during that time. Unfortunately, they recently made a move that he was unable to make with them so he is looking for a forever family. Oscar has previously been given the opportunity to go on unaccompanied walkabouts. Because of this, he has developed the habit of going over the fence to roam. He comes with his own cable that could go in his yard but what he would like most is room to roam or a very secure yard for when he isn’t hanging out inside with his peeps. Oscar recently had a dental and a malignant tumor removed from his side which the vet believes was removed entirely. To adopt or learn more about Oscar, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Fionasouthern utah adoptable pets Fiona2

Fiona is a lovely young dog, approximately 1-2 years of age. She loves to cuddle with people, plays well with friendly dogs and lost her home when she was abandoned when her folks moved away and left her with no food. Fiona and three of her puppies survived by eating the other animals that died from starvation. Five of her puppies did not survive. Though young and put through a very stressful situation with her puppies, she has done an excellent job and has remained loving and loyal to people. Her puppies are finding families that will love them forever and it’s time for Fiona to also find her ever after family. Her adoption fee is $125. They are now taking applications on her. To meet her, call (435) 773-5209.

Sabrinasouthern utah adoptable pets Sabrina

After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.

Tobysouthern utah adoptable pets TOBY

Toby is absolutely the happiest little dog you will ever want to meet. His tail is always going and he always has a smile on his face. He’s an active little guy who knows exactly what he wants out of life and aims to go about getting it. Right now he wants a family of his own. When he’s frightened or there’s too much chaos around him, Toby can get a wee bit snappy. For that reason, they do not recommend young children for him although older, respectful, dog savvy teen should be fine. He just needs to be left alone when frightened until he calms down and he has good recovery so it doesn’t take long. He absolutely loves lap sitting and playing with other dogs his size (he’s nervous around some big dogs). His adoption fee is $175. To meet Toby call Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. You will definitely fall in love with this little guy!

Ozziesouthern utah adoptable pets Ozzie

She’s a 3 ft tall counter surfer if not watched. Nellie is good on and off leash on her daily walks. She is a great walking/hiking companion and needs lots of chewable and squeaky toys. Nellie’s adoption fee is $125. To meet Nellie, contact David at (435) 862-2207.
