Preparations for the 28th annual Peach Days: A Celebration of Our Heritage are underway, promising a fun-filled week for the community to bid summer goodbye. Always held the weekend before Labor Day, this year’s festival falls on September 3–5. Because 2026 marks the 250th birthday of the United States, the committee has themed this year’s event as a Patriotic Peach Days, with decorations, displays, and parade floats boasting red, white, and blue.
The festivities begin early in the week with a Tuesday golf tournament and a pickleball tournament running Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday evening, the SUP Wagon Train will travel down Hurricane Hill from the old sheep-shearing corrals, gathering at the community center at 6:30 PM for a community root beer float social. The evening also features a free opening concert by local favorite John Houston and friends.

The official opening of the festival takes place Thursday, September 3, at 5 PM at the old town square. Visitors can explore a wide array of displays, a quilt show, food vendors, commercial booths, and a carnival, with continuous entertainment across three stages. A special Patriotic Opening Program is scheduled for 6 PM on Thursday, and theater enthusiasts can enjoy performances of the musical “Frozen” running through Saturday.
Rodeo fans can head to the grounds near the airport for three nights of action starting at 7 PM. Thursday features a youth rodeo, while Friday and Saturday offer traditional rodeo events with rough stock and timed competitions. Friday evening also includes a foam dance and a screening of “Moana II” as a movie in the park.

Saturday’s schedule is packed with traditional favorites, including a fun run, two Hurricane Canal Treks, and the famous Peach Days Parade. Attendees can also visit the Pioneer Corner and farm display, join the HHS All-Class Reunion, or enter the competitive peach cook-off. The celebration culminates in a fireworks display Saturday evening before the event officially closes at 10 PM. For those seeking one last adventure, an advanced canal hike is offered as a “tag-on” event on Monday, September 7.
As a staple of the Hurricane Valley, Peach Days aims to cultivate a small-town feeling and a sense of pride in the local heritage. Whether traveling from near or far, everyone is invited to join friends and family for this patriotic farewell to the summer season.
